Extreme Weather - What's Best for Our Teachers and Learners?


As hundreds of schools close or partially close across both England and Wales, because of the very high temperatures, I thought it might be a good time to share this quote from Dr Jared Horvath.

The impact of climate change is clearly making these extreme weather events far more common. I've visited many schools where teachers rightly complain that their classrooms are too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer. With school budgets seemingly getting worse every year, there are some big decisions that need to be made at all levels about where we prioritise spending over the coming years to do what's best for our learners and for teachers.
